Convention on Nuclear Safety: France's report
The tenth review meeting of the Convention on Nuclear Safety will be held from 13 to 24 April 2026 at the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria. This international treaty concerns the safety of nuclear power plants, for which it establishes a number of obligations.
In this context, on 28 August 2025, ASNR submitted France's report to the IAEA. This report presents France's implementation of its obligations and highlights the latest developments and key events, prospects and national challenges for the next three years.
This report was prepared by the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Authority (ASNR), which acted as coordinator, with contributions from nuclear reactor operators, Électricité de France (EDF), the French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission (CEA), the Institut Laue – Langevin Institute (ILL) and the ITER organisation, and government authorities.
The review meeting of the Convention on Nuclear Safety will enable each of the 98 contracting parties to present its national report and contribute to the peer review of the reports presented by the other contracting parties.
