Protection of personal data

This personal data protection policy, as well as any document to which it refers, sets out the conditions under which the French Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ASNR), an independent administrative authority responsible, on behalf of the State, for research, expertise, regulation, and oversight of nuclear safety and radiation protection, whose head office is located at 15 rue Louis Lejeune, 92120 Montrouge, France, carries out, as data controller, the processing operations described below concerning the personal data of any user of the www.asnr.fr website.

In this respect, the ASNR processes personal data in compliance with the principles laid down by the regulations applicable to the protection of personal data, and in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27th April  2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the General Data Protection Regulation, or “GDPR”), and French Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, on information technology, files and freedoms (the French Data Protection Act)

In accordance with the foregoing Personal Data Regulations, the term “personal data” refers, in the context of this policy, to any information concerning you and enabling you to be identified directly or indirectly as a natural person.

This personal data protection policy may be subject to change in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory context or the development of the ASNR’s activities.

The principles applicable to the processing of your personal data.

When collecting and processing your personal data, the ASNR is committed to respecting the following principles:

  • Lawfulness: your personal data are collected for specific, explicit, and legitimate purposes, on an appropriate legal basis;
  • Transparency: you will be informed of each processing operation we carry out and its characteristics by means of information notices, and your personal data will not be processed without your knowledge;
  • Minimization: the ASNR undertakes only to collect and process personal data concerning you that are strictly necessary for the purpose pursued by the ASNR, and to update such data regularly;
  • Data protection by design and by default: when developing, designing, configuring, and using applications, services, and products that rely on the processing of personal data, the ASNR takes into account your right to the protection of personal data and verifies that its partners meet the legal requirements and ensure the effective protection of the personal data to be processed;
  • Security of personal data: the ASNR has put in place technical and organizational measures, adapted to the degree of sensitivity of the personal data collected, to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of your personal data and to protect them against malicious intrusion, loss, alteration, or disclosure to unauthorized third parties.
  • Commitments of service providers and partners: the ASNR selects its subcontractors, service providers, and partners with care and requires them:
    • to ensure a level of protection for your personal data equivalent to its own,
    • to use your personal data only to the extent necessary to provide the services entrusted to them,
    • to comply with the Personal Data Regulations.

In accordance with the Personal Data Regulations, the personal data collected by the ASNR will be used for the purposes for which they were collected and for the periods indicated in the table below.



At the end of the retention periods indicated below, your personal data will be deleted.

Cookies

A cookie is a text file stored on your computer when you visit a website or view an advertisement. It is used to store user data in order to facilitate navigation and enable certain functions. Cookies are managed by your web browser.

Four types of cookies are stored on the https://www.asnr.fr website.

User login cookies

The ASNR website does not store cookies on the computers of Internet users.

Third-party application cookies

The asnr.fr website relies on certain services offered by third-party websites. These include:

  1. Videos broadcast on the website (YouTube);
  2. Content from social networking platforms (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.);
  3. Content from official websites of the French government or partners in France’s cultural, linguistic, educational, and scientific network.

These functionalities use third-party cookies placed directly by these services. These cookies are therefore not the responsibility of the ASNR.

Audience measurement cookies

The ASNR website uses Matomo to measure the audience of its website. This tool works without cookies. Matomo fully complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • Visitors are not tracked from one website to another;
  • The “digital footprints” change daily for each visitor;
  • Data are not used for any purpose other than analysis;
  • The Matomo Cloud data center is located in Europe.
