On 18 February 2026, ASNR President Pierre-Marie Abadie met with Pascale Absil, Director General of the AFCN (Belgian Federal Agency for Nuclear Control), accompanied by Michel Van haesendonck, Director General of Bel-V (technical support for the AFCN).

This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss current developments at border sites and plans for new EPR2 reactors or small modular reactors. 

On this occasion, Pierre-Marie Abadie and Pascale Absil renewed a cooperation agreement that will facilitate information exchange and cooperation on issues relating to nuclear safety and radiation protection, including crisis management and environmental protection.
