ASNR welcomes Singapore's Minister for Sustainability and the Environment
On Thursday 4 June 2026, ASNR President Pierre-Marie Abadie had the honor to welcome Grace Fu, Singapore's Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) and Minister for Trade Relations, and her delegation from Singapore's radiation safety authority (National Environment Agency - NEA).

The discussions provided an opportunity to discuss safety considerations with respect to advanced nuclear technologies and the responsibility of Regulatory Organisations in an environment where more and more countries show interest for nuclear energy. ASNR could share its experience in this area, aimed at the protection of the public and of the environment.
Minister Fu and Chairman Abadie commended the already strong scientific and regulatory cooperation ASNR and Singaporean radiation safety organisations developed over the years and are looking forward to its continuation.
On the occasion of her visit to ASNR, Minister Fu also had a discussion with Olivier Gupta, Director General of ASNR, in his capacity as Vice-Chair of WENRA (Western European Nuclear Regulators Association). This allowed for discussion on the process of harmonising European national regulations, through a regional network of Regulatory Organisations, being carried out within the framework of WENRA through its Safety Reference Levels.
The day before, Commissioner Stéphanie Guénot Bresson, accompanied by representatives from ASNR International Directorate and ASNR Academy, had met with the NEA delegation to review cooperation activities between the two organisations.
In addition to the Singaporean radiation safety authority, ASNR actively cooperates with the Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute (SNRSI) within the National University of Singapore, with which it has established a joint research laboratory since 2024, as well as with the DSO National Laboratories.
