As part of the ongoing cooperation between ASNR and the Polish Safety Authority (PAA), ASNR hosted a delegation of three Polish inspectors from 13 to 15 October 2026 for a technical exchange focusing on supplier inspection practices. The visit was done within the framework of the WGSUP, an international expert working group on supply chain oversight, established under the auspices of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency’s Committee on Nuclear Regulatory Activities (CNRA). Discussions held throughout the visit focused on inspection methodologies, the regulatory framework, the preparation and conduct of inspections, and lessons learned from major nuclear projects.

The highlight of the program was the delegation’s participation, on 14 October 2026, in an inspection carried out by the ASNR’s Dijon division at the Framatome Saint-Marcel site, relating to the manufacture of components for the EPR2 program. With a focus on steam generator manufacturing, this inspection provided the delegation an opportunity to observe how supplier oversight is implemented in practice during the production of nuclear components.

Organised with the support of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) under its Technical Cooperation Programme, the visit contributed to strengthening regulatory competencies and promoting the exchange of good practices in the oversight of nuclear suppliers between France and Poland.

This visit demonstrates the shared commitment of ASNR and PAA to deepening their cooperation by promoting the sharing of experiences and the dissemination of best practice in the field of nuclear safety.
