ASNR involves civil society and stakeholders in its work and decision-making through a number of mechanisms.

Openness to society

The ASNR’s policy of openness and transparency applies equally to its expert assessment, oversight, and research activities. It is designed to meet many of the expectations of civil society, which is keen to fully exercise its right to participate in the national nuclear and radiological risk governance system.

Involving the public

The ASNR relies on a wide range of forms of public involvement to fulfill its role to inform and achieve its aim of contributing to informed societal choices regarding nuclear safety and radiation protection.
