8th European Nuclear Safety Conference organised by ENSREG
Pierre-Marie Abadie, Chairman of ASNR, will chair the 8th European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) Conference on Nuclear Safety, to be held on 16 and 17 June 2026 in Brussels (Belgium).
“Regulating nuclear safety in a rapidly changing and challenging environment” will be the main topic of this conference which will give an opportunity to European nuclear safety authorities, their technical support organisations (TSOs) and various stakeholders, including representatives of the European institutions, NGOs and media, as well as representatives from non-EU countries, to exchange challenges, experiences and views on the current nuclear context and its unprecedented challenges in the EU and globally.
The programme for these two days includes presentations by numerous representatives of national and international organisations, including:
- Juan-Carlos Lentijo, Chair of ENSREG (European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group)
- Petteri Tiippana, Chair of WENRA (Western European Nuclear Regulators Association)
- William D. Magwood IV, Director-General of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA)
- Karine Herviou, Deputy Director General of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency)
- Jean-Luc Lachaume, ASNR Commissioner and Chair of HERCA (Heads of the European Radiological Protection Competent Authorities)
- Federico Rocchi, President of ETSON (European Technical Safety Organizations Network)
