The European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) will meet on 3 December 2026 to discuss the technical topic to be covered by the third round of EU-wide peer reviews (TPR III).

European Directive 2014/87/Euratom on nuclear safety provides for a Topical Peer Review (TPR) to be carried out every six years on the nuclear installations of each Member State, focusing on a specific topic. The first cycle, carried out in 2017, focused on the management of ageing nuclear reactors (more information). The second cycle, launched in 2023, focused on the protection of nuclear installations against fire risks (more information).

In this context, the European Group of Nuclear Safety Regulators (ENSREG) will meet on 3 December 2026 to discuss the technical topic that will form the subject of the third round of EU-wide peer review (TPR III).

Stakeholders, including the general public, are invited to review the presentation of the three candidate topics proposed by the Western European Nuclear Regulators’ Association (WENRA), and to submit their comments on these candidate topics by 11 November 2026.
